Job Responsibilities:

Position Purpose:
Performs moderately complex (journey-level) analytical work.  Applies statistical theory and methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize numerical and qualitative data to provide usable information.  Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. 

Essential Responsibilities:
• Assists in defining data requirements.
• Assists in analyzing program data using relational database and statistical software (primarily SAS).
• Assists in designing, producing, analyzing and debugging routine data reports. Some reports are produced in Microsoft Access and use Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
• Assists in reporting results of statistical analyses (i.e. graphs, charts, tables, written reports).
• Assists in researching the contents, limitations, and potential uses of all available data sets relevant to assigned task areas.
• Assists in the developing documentation for all analyses to include storage location of all files (i.e., program code, data sets, output); assists in documenting program code and monitoring use of disk storage, archiving data sets when not in use.
• Assists in collaborating with others in the organization to ensure successful implementation of chosen problem solutions.
• Assists other members of the Analytic group by checking program code for adherence to specifications and checking output for correct results.
• Assists in providing technical support to customers including answering questions, trouble-shooting problems and assisting in modification of program code.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.



Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in statistics, economics, natural science or a related discipline

• One (1) year analyzing data using a statistical software package (SAS)
• SAS programming, preferred
• Visual Basic programming language, preferred
• Microsoft Access, preferred

Work Environment
Requires working in an office/cubicle environment; sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting and/or reaching. Requires repetitive movement; ability to lift, carry or move up to 25 lbs. when transporting work equipment or materials.  May require ability to operate a motor vehicle; the ability to travel by motor vehicle and commercial airline.  May require overnight travel.
